=(x.x)= ....dies of wolfie cuteness
Soo Anyways, in 1971, Congress passed the Airborne Hunting Act, banning the use of airplanes to hunt wolves. But the State of Alaska has exploited a loophole that allows private citizens to kill of hundreds of wolves annually under what's called "wildlife management." In reality, aerial gunning is used to artificially inflate game numbers - a practice condemned by wildlife biologists.

The brutal tactics of chasing wolves to exhaustion with low-flying aircraft or gunning them down from above, championed by the embodiment of trailer trash a.k.a Sarah Palin, has sparked outrage from conservationists, ethical hunters and concerned animal lovers worldwide.

Since 2003, the state’s aerial killing programs have claimed the lives of more than 1,000 wolves. During the 2008/2009 aerial gunning season, more than 250 wolves were killed - making it one the deadliest season in years!

Recently, California Senator Dianne Feinstein -- joined by Senator Ben Cardin of Maryland -- introduced the Protect America's Wildlife (PAW) Act, federal legislation to stop Alaska's aerial killing and prevent similar practices from spreading to other states.

The introduction of the PAW Act is a landmark opportunity, and the Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund needs YOUR help in pressuring your senators into voting for this important piece of legislation by clicking HERE
